Woman struck by vehicle on Kings Canyon in SE Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A woman is recovering in the hospital after she was hit by a car while trying to cross Kings Canyon Road in Southeast Fresno.

Police say the driver simply didn’t see the woman as she stepped off the median to cross the road with her bicycle.

Investigators say it appears the woman did not have any broken bones. She was breathing, but unresponsive when she was rushed to the hospital.

“The driver of the blue vehicle was interviewed and found to be validly licensed and not under the influence,” said Sgt. Richard Dejong. “He had insurance, this is just an unfortunate situation.”

The condition of the woman who was run over — is not known yet.

Cause of the Fresno Crash

The cause of the initial crash between the pedestrian and the vehicle is under investigation, but police say neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been a factor. No arrests were reported.
