Two Fresno residents critically hurt in big-rig collision

Christopher Kisling, 51, and Deanna Kisling, 59, were not wearing seat belts when they were thrown from their vehicle onto the roadway about 10:40 a.m. Saturday, the California Highway Patrol said.

An ambulance took Christopher Kisling to Community Regional Medical Center. Deanna Kisling was taken there by helicopter.

The California Highway Patrol reported that a big- rig, driven by Justin Mink, 31, of Fresno, was traveling east on Shepherd Avenue. Mink stopped at stop sign at Academy and proceeded into the intersection.

Christopher Kisling, driving north on Academy, tried to avoid a collision, but the big rig struck the 1949 Ford on the driver’s side rear quarter panel. The big-rig driver Justin Mink was not injured.
