Kerman teenager dies in Big-Rig Fresno County crash
A big-rig collision with another vehicle Sunday night killed one person and injured two others in southwest Fresno.
The crash happened just after eight last night near the intersection of Jensen and West. The California Highway Patrol is not releasing the identity of the victim.
Investigators say a 16-year-old girl was riding in a car with an 18-year old man when their car crossed into the path of a semi-truck on Jensen. The car hit the truck, killing the girl. The driver of the car was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
The big rig overturned at the intersection next to the Fresno Regional Sports Park and spilled about 70 gallons of diesel fuel into the dirt. The Fresno Fire Department received the call at 8:27 p.m., and the department’s Hazmat unit was on the scene to assist with the cleanup.
The Fresno County Health Department was alerted as well.
