ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. – San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Deputies and California Highway Patrol respond to early morning car accident that leaves one person dead.

According the SLO County Sheriff’s Department, the Coroner’s unit responded to the scene of a fatal traffic collision on Saturday morning around 5:28am. A car traveling southbound on State Route One collided with a big rig that had broken down in the middle of the road. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identification of the driver is pending notification of next of kin. CHP San Luis Obispo is conducting the accident investigation.
