Eric Strzelczyk, 29, a former Air Force sergeant who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead about 4:30 a.m. at the scene of the crash, Palm Springs police Sgt. Paul Abshire said.
The collision occurred when a white 1991 Ford Ranger pickup, traveling west on East Palm Canyon Drive, made a left turn onto Camino Real in front of Strzelczyk, who was heading east on East Palm Canyon.
