Motorcyclist who died after colliding with SUV ID’d
A motorcyclist who died after colliding with an SUV in a residential neighborhood Wednesday night has been identified as 28-year-old Steven Bach of Buena Park, authorities said.
The collision was reported at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday at Western Avenue and Fillmore Drive. Although in a residential neighborhood, Western Avenue is a major thoroughfare with four traffic lanes.
Bach, who was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, died about 40 minutes after the wreck of “multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries,” said Orange County Supervising Deputy Coroner Larry Esslinger.
Buena Park police did not immediately release additional information about the crash.

The Hurt report Findings
A major work done on this subject in the USA is the Hurt Report, published in 1981 with data collected in Los Angeles and the surrounding rural areas. There have been longstanding calls for a new safety study in the US, and Congress has provided the seed money for such a project, but as yet the remainder of the funding has not all been pledged.
