Two people are dead and two others received major injuries in an early morning car crash north of Corcoran today, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 1995 Nissan was traveling south on Highway 43, north of Manteca Avenue, when the 19-year-old driver turned into the path of a 2005 Chrysler traveling north around 2:05 a.m., the CHP said.

The Nissan’s driver and 19-year-old front passenger, who have not been identified, suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. An 18-year-old rear passenger and the 46-year-old driver of the Chrysler suffered major injuries and were both transported to Community Regional Meical Center in Fresno.

Cause of the Corcoran Crash

The driver of the Nissan may have been distracted at the time of the crash, the CHP said. The driver of the Chrysler was unlicensed. The crash is still under investigation by the Hanford California Highway Patrol.

Liability for  Serious Injuries in Car Accidents

Seeking immediate counsel from an experienced  automobile accident attorney is well-advised following a car crash. In severe accidents such as this one the victims would benefit from speaking to an experienced personal injury lawyer regarding the protection of their legal rights and the compensation they are entitled to. And while it is uncertain who is liable for this incident, an attorney can also hire a highly skilled independent investigator to reconstruct the scene of the accident and determine who is responsible.
