Bicyclist Hurt after Crash between Two SUVs in Fountain Valley
According to the Fountain Valley Police Department a bicyclist was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon after a collision between two SUVs caused one of the vehicles to veer and strike him.
Officers and paramedics responded to the traffic accident at the Bushard Street and Talbert Avenue intersection just before 2:30 p.m.
Investigators believe that two SUVs collided in the intersection, with one veering off the roadway and striking the bicyclist, who was waiting on a corner for the traffic lights to change, Fountain Valley police Lt. Rob Sweaza said.
The bicyclist, a 29-year-old Huntington Beach man, was taken to a hospital with severe injuries, but was expected to survive.
Cause of the Fountain Valley Crash
The cause of the initial crash between the SUVs is under investigation, but police say neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been a factor. No arrests were reported.
